We are currently at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Last night my father passed out at home and was brought to the ER. He stayed here last night and will again tonight but we hope he will be home tomorrow. His iron is very low (side effect of multiple myeloma) and his kidneys are not functioning at the proper level. It seems that some if his medications my be difficult on his kidneys so there will hopefully be another change in his medications. He is currently on his last bag of blood for the transfusion and is also getting an IV to help rehydrate him.
I guess the plan is to get his iron back to normal and get his “plumbing” working. We are still waiting to get him into the specialist at the University of Iowa, so hopefully that happens soon.
